Mamavation...I've Been a Bad Bad Girl

Fri-Jan 15th

a cup of coffee w/splenda & whole milk (it was all i had)
breakfast: a bowl of cheerios & a banana
snack: 1 pc of pumpkin seed flat bread w/ 1 slice of cheddar cheese
lunch: 1 fried chicken thigh w/1 slice of cheese in a tortilla
dinner: nachos w/carne asada, & sour cream, dr pepper
water: still workin on it!

Ok, today was not great, but I really could have done worse! I was hungry, I could have had more chicken for lunch, but I stuck w/one piece. The nachos, I could have eaten more, until I felt sick, but I stopped. Obviously, I didn't make it to a week of no soda, but I can start again.

a cup of coffee w/splenda & whole milk
Breakfast/Lunch: 1 pc of fried chicken, 1 slice of cheddar cheese, 2 flour tortillas
Dinner: Mushroom swiss burger w/fries & iced tea, oh & a salad w/ranch
Dessert: I split a sundae w/hubby

Water: Um, I drank some...

I kinda slept in, so I had breakfast & lunch together. The Mushroom swiss burger could have been worse, I wanted country fried steak. Hey, I shared the sundae!

Sunday-Jan 17th

a cup of coffee w/splenda & whole milk (I'm going shopping tomorrow)
Breakfast: 1 egg over easy (minus the yolk that ended up in my hair~it's a gift, I know.) & 2 flour tortillas. oh & i little box of juicy juicy apple juice~yes, I stole my kid's juice.
Lunch/Dinner: Steak w/Parmesan & shrimp, loaded mashed potatoes, mozzarella sticks & iced tea, choc mousse for dessert

I'm a little behind on my water (it's 7:18 now) & I've got 48 oz down.

As you can say, I have not have a good food day. Tomorrow is the start of a new week. I hope to do better.

Goals for the new week:
  • Screw moving, I need to get some exercise, even if it's just starting out slow
  • I need to go to the store & get me some good food
  • Take my meds every day
  • Drink my water~chug, Chug, CHUG!!!!
  • Since I'm going to the store for good food, I may as well eat it
I have started off poorly, but I am more aware of what I eat & feel guilty over every bad thing that goes into my mouth.

I will do better this week. I will do better this week. I will do better this week. I will do better this week.

Mamavation Monday

Most of you who have been reading about me for that past year pretty much know me. This will be a review for you...Who knows, you may learn something new about me!

My name is Kim. I'm 31 yrs old. I've been married for almost 9 years (shit, may anniversary is on Thurs!!!). I have a 6 year old daughter. And, as you can probably tell, I'm easily distracted.

I was chubby when I was younger, but as I got to be a teen I thinned out. When I was in elementary school, I was always self conscious about my weight. I weight 108 lbs when I was in the 5th grade. (Weirdly enough, I weighed less than that when I was 18.)

When I was18-19, I thought I looked as good(ish) that I could. I weighed 105 & was good to go. Sure I always had a little pooch that no amount of sit ups could fix, but whatever. Was I happy w/my looks...NO!

When I was 19, I decided to go on birth control. I was too lazy for the pill, so I went for the shot that you gt every 3 mos (I have no probs w/needles, for those of you thinking the pill is so much easier. Look at the blog name!). Your body can react like it's pregnant when you do this form of birth control. I was tired all the time. I was nauseous. I put on 50 lbs. Scary shit for the girl always worried about how much she weighed!

I was able to take most of that (ok, 1/2) off by the time I met my hubby through diet, exercise, & pills. I've probably tried a good portion of the diet pills out there. I hate feeling like my heart is going to beat out of my chest, but if it means that I don't have to work harder, it's worth it, right?

When you're with someone for a decade, you tend to get comfortable & a lot of people let themselves go. This is what I have done. I can blame it on my daughter, but that's taking the easy way out. I can blame it on my thyroid disease, too, & while I know that that's part of it, I know there's more. Plain & simple-I let myself go. I gave in to the laziness that has always been a part of me.

What I am trying to do is get myself back out of my lazy habit. I want to be ABLE to be active. My daughter doesn't need to grow up remembering me on the couch (which are most of her memories so far).

My goals for this week are small. I put them on my music post, but I'll put them here too.
  • Get moving in someway, shape or form.
  • Drink my 64 oz of water
  • NO SODA!!!!
I could make a ton more goals for myself, but Leah says baby steps.

Shake Your Booty Music Monday

Ok, Kia from Bodhi Bear basically challenged me to do a Music Monday that will get you going while working out.

As you all know, I'm trying to be the next Mamavation Mom. This means my tushy better get moving. Ok, while I'm on the computer, I'm obviously sitting on my ass, but trust me when I say I'm moving while listening through my list & writing this up.

Part of my problem is I am always on the computer & have every reason in the world not to get up...I can do pretty much everything while at my computer! I hope this gets me going! (I think I can. I think I can. I think I can...)

I hope this helps get you moving & gets you through your Monday!

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

Goals for today:
  • drink at least 64 oz of water
  • get moving in one way or another for at least an hr
  • NO SODA!!!!

Goals for the New Year

Notice I didn't say resolution? I don't believe in New Year's resolutions. I think they're crap, which I know I've said before. People take them seriously for about a minute & then they're forgotten or they're put off for so long until the person feels so guilty that they are forced to give it a shot; this happens in about June or July.

Here are my GOALS for 2010:
  • Lose weight-Sounds like everyone's resolutions, but for my health & my family & my sanity (I may f'ing beat that fat chick in the mirror one day!) it needs to be done.
  • Get a J O B-I need one to help support us, unless someone wants to pay me for chatting w/y'all...Anyone? Anyone? Shit. It was worth a try.
There are little ones like be nicer, be more active (blah blah blah), but those will most likely come w/attaining my major goals.

I don't want to hear your resolutions. I wanna hear your GOALS. What do you seriously plan on doing in the new year? How do you plan on starting out a new decade. If you say on your couch, pickin your nose, I will throw things at you. Besides, that position has been filled...by moi!

Cuz there's 30 years in a decade, right? Just kidding, but the song seems appropriate anyway.

Goals

One of the things they (Primerica) teach in our weekly class is that if you don't write down your goals, it's like not having them. Here are my goals:
  • See 2-3 people a week for work
  • Clean: pick up more, so the damn goat will stop eating random things (this time it was a box of kleenex-box included! Oh, & a dollar bill.)
  • Get more organized: Hell, I may be able to find things!
  • Exercise on my non-walking days.
  • Remember to blog weekly: Make it bigger & better...nah, I'll just remember to write.
  • Fundraising (short term goal): Still have fundraising to do! Click here if you'd like to donate!

I'm sure there are more, but these were the most important (ok, not writing this). I know that "be a better wife & mother" should be on here, but...baby steps people, baby steps.

I'm feeling very Tori today, so here is something soothing & beautiful.

My lesson for everyone today: Write your goals down, you may actually reach them!

Random thoughts

While sitting in class last night (when I should have probably been listening) I had these thoughts:
  • Marriage is contagious & going around~Congrats to Tricia & Steve & to my nephew Adam & his new fiance Crystal. Screw Valentine's Day, this last weekend seemed to be the time to become engaged (or to share w/the family).
  • I have severe problems keeping my goals.
  • Twitter is evil (see above).
  • Man, this lady's perfume is killing me! Why women love the floral perfumes is beyond me & why they feel the need to pour it on just plain kills me!
  • I'm thirsty...If I get up now, will someone steal my seat?
  • Am I the only tattooed person here?
  • It seems like these people are a bunch of cheerleaders, they are so perky...Why did they think I'd fit in?
  • Wow, I need to get my nails done.
  • These chairs are uncomfortable.
  • What should I be doing tomorrow?
  • Are we going to reschedule our Passion Party?
  • Wonder what Eric & M are doing?
  • I want some M&M's.

I don't know why I can't get anything accomplished. As you can see, I am completely focused in all that I do.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Ok, the goal setting didn't work. The only thing I accomplished yesterday was watching the first Pirates & sleeping through the second. I have an excuse (heartburn which made me nauseous), but I fear there will always be an excuse. Nothing got done for the blog, the bathrooms still need cleaning & very little studying got done (I did do a little, though). I feel a little better today, so I'm going to try this again (as I have At World's End on in the background). Today I have class, so I'd like to actually have gone through a couple more chapters (notice I lowered the number again). Part of my problem is that I don't like silence, yet if I turn on music or something on tv, then I can't concentrate.

Oh! Before I forget, Happy St. Patty's Day! I have green tattooed onto me, so I don't have to worry about clothing...not that I was worried. Anyone who tries to pinch me is going to get kicked in the ass.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I'll leave you with some Celtic Music. I love Loreena McKennitt!

Sometimes Life Just Gets in the Way

I always have the best of intentions. I plan on spending time on a blog, looking for a job, doing my online studying, but it seems that something always seems to come up. We have to go to Target, go to the in-laws, we have psycho dogs terrorizing our house, or play on Twitter or Facebook, etc...

Does anything that I had wanted to do get done? No. There are loads of laundry waiting to be done, bathrooms that need to be cleaned & a computer class just calling my name, telling me I need to get my ass in gear. What am I doing? I'm writing instead.

Someone needs to teach me how to make a schedule & stick to it. I want to get everything done, but it always seems that there is something else to do (Damn you, Pirates!)

I am going to make it my goal (for the month) to try to stick to a schedule. I know I will feel like a better person for it.

My goal list for tomorrow:
  • Study-I want to get through at least 3 chapters (I was gonna say 4, but lets keep it realistic).
  • Work on this blog to try to make it better
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Pirates of the Caribbean (Hey, I must do what is on the list!)

I'm trying to start off small & hopefully I can accomplish these things & work at growing to be a better person. Wish me luck!

Peace & Love.
