Hi, my name is Kim & I’m a dork. I am a happily married mother of a 9 yr old demon *cough cough*, er daughter. I'm usually reading on my Kindle, on the computer, or watching movies, but I'm usually reading. I'm a sucker for a happy ending. I sing badly & dance worse (only when alone or with the kid). I tend to get songs & movie quotes stuck in my head (mentally inked~get it? hee hee). I try to be a good person, wife & mother, but don’t always pull it off.
Ok, none of these have anything to do w/going back to work, but that is what I am doing today! For some of my Twitter friends, you'll notice I got some of these from PS I Love You. I just love the sound of them. Again, I went lazy & went perusing other people's playlists & found songs I liked. I deleted some cuz I ended up with over 50 songs!
Next week, I think I'm going to do a Christmas list of songs that don't make me want to vomit.
If I'm talking about PS I Love You, then I gotta have MY Gerard in here!
So far I'm having the bestest food birfday ever! So far, my birthday has lasted 5 days, & I've been taken out (or just fed) 5 times. And believe you me, I'm am enjoying it immensely! Unfortunately, my pants are not. Fat & happy? Yeah, not so much... I am loving the food though!! And the best food of it all comes tomorrow! I'm soo excited (for the food)!
That's not entirely true! While I love the food, I love my family too. I am grateful to them for just being them. I just hope they bring some goodies. I heard that my cousin's wife is making different batches of cookies & I'm hoping that means that we're getting some good stuff!
Wow, is this a total fat-girl post or what?! All about the food!
I truly am thankful for my friends & family (for helping in making me the fat-ass I am today) for always being there when they are needed & loving me unconditionally.
My friends (in my head) include you loonies who come here to read whatever nonsense I have spouted on any given day. Y'all are wonderful! They also include my Twitter & Momdot friends, whom I adore. (I am in a pseudo-fight right now, just to give Gena someone to argue with, & enjoying the hell out of myself!) My pod-family almost always make me feel safe & loved (Mommy, daddy, please don't fight! Yes, we're a giant dysfunctional family). My in real life friends, ahhh...do you put up w/a lot! Love you bunches.
Enough mushy cheese. What are you thankful for? (Besides me, I mean...hehehehe)
Everyone have a wonderful Turkey Day! Try not to eat too much!
Ha! Thought I was gonna do a Turkey Day song again, didn't you? (Now I wanna watch Golden Girls!)
It's weird, at least for me, that I can spill (some of) my guts & talk to y'all through here or Twitter or Facebook & yet, I can't talk to you in person or where I'm in a position to be seen.
I went to the LA Mom's Night Out (put on by Mom TV ) last night & mainly stayed to myself or with the few people I knew. Kadi came outside to get me because I was being paged by Nicole & Gena online. I was inside long enough to wave hi to the camera & then slink back to my safe place.
I have been like this my entire life. I am always nervous around new people & I am nearly terrified in group situations (doesn't matter if I know people or not). I don't like to be the focus of anything (which is amazing since this is all about me, right?). A month or so ago, the lovely, beautiful, & silly, Brittany Greer posted my "Meet the Bloggers". My motto? Don't Trip (also known as the theme of my wedding day).
Right now because I don't feel good about myself, it's even worse. I feel (& look) fat & ugly, & that makes me even more uncomfortable around people.
If you meet me, please don't take my standoffishness (real word?) as me being bitchy or conceited or thinking I'm better than everyone around me (yes, I've heard all these things from people~after they took the time to get to know me.), I'm just shy. I'm not saying I'm not a bitch, cuz I totally am, but just give me a chance.
Maybe I will get better. Maybe I won't. I don't know.
As we already know, I'm a little off. Not like that! I'm perfectly normal, damn it! (Maybe not, since I'm arguing w/myself & imaginary people.) Aaaanyway...I've been down.
Money problems will do that. I'm looking for work & it's not going so well. I'm borrowing money (out the wazoo) from family, but it's like putting a band-aid on a giant gaping wound. I've been trying to either sleep my problems away or watch tv/movies to distract me.
I grew up watching, & digging, musicals (my grandparents had them & from what I can tell the love runs in the family). In this day & age, it makes me a little weird, I know. Don't get me wrong, I don't like them all. Hell, I haven't even seen The Sound of Music (insert collective gasp here). If you are a Twitter or Facebook friend, there will be times that you just get lines from some of the musicals (most recently The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas) from me. I'd apologize in advance, but if I was sorry, I wouldn't do it.
Also, if you've been reading my blog for more than a second, you'd see my love of music. I love all sorts (I tend to only post the upbeat for y'all), including some of the music Putumayo puts out, even though I don't understand most of the songs. Music soothes me. Plain & simple, music makes me happy.
Enter teenybopper show, Glee. I saw the commercials & like a lot of people, never thought twice about it. Sure I like Jane Lynch, but what the fuck do I care that she's got a show on tv? Then I kept seeing random things on FB from people saying how much they liked the show. Ok, I can't say that I don't like something if I haven't seen it, so I thought I'd give it a try (thank you Hulu!). They were already 4 or 5 episodes into the season & once I watched the first one, I had to watch them all!
I loved it. I loved the cheesiness of it, the high strung girl, the bad boy, the jock, the gay guy, the black chick, the Asian chick, the bitchy cheerleader, wheelchair guy...& the rest(here on Gilligan's Island!). I love watching the happenings in the storyline of them trying to get to Sectionals.
The songs, some I've heard & some I hadn't, all sounded great to me (ok, the jock doesn't blow me away, but nothing is perfect). Songs put together that I never would have listened to, made me search out the originals.
Again, music has made me happy. This show in all it's bitchy, cheesy, Slushee, funny, dance-y, musically wonderful glory helps to make me a happy camper when all I want to do is cry. Who can cry when a white guy is singin the Thong Song?!
If you wanna make fun of the show, watch it first, then you can make fun of it. But I hope you love it instead.
Ok, it also helps that they have some cutie-pies in it. I'm a sucker for a cutie in a little Mohawk!
A glimpse into the way my mind works (written how I think). Sad, isn't it?
I have kinda dropped the ball on writing this last week. I'd like to say that it was because I was studying or because I started training for the Avon Walk or trying to find a cure for world hunger, but that is not the case. I have had my head in the books (Twilight Saga & The Host). I am a major procrastinator. I should be studying now, but I have all my wonderful friends on Twitter & Facebook & the JJS boards to keep me busy. I even went for a walk today (anything to keep me from studying!!!!). I walked 1 1/4 miles today. Not great, but hell it's a start & it got my fat ass off the couch!
I am a person who obsesses over things so when I start a new book, I'm screwed because nothing else gets done. I watched the Twilight movie about a month ago & have been obsessed ever since. That there Robert Pattinson is just beautiful on one of those weird ways. Yes, I'm a 30 year old woman crushing on a 22 yr old boy. Sue me. Just don't tell anyone because, well, it's embarrassing!! Because of this new crush , though, I did find the books. Yes, my sister told me about them before (I LOVE vampire stuff!), but I didn't want to read a young adult book! These books were wonderful (I've now read them all twice) & I can't wait for the New Moon movie to come out in November! I've told my hubby that that is what I want to to for my birthday. Yes, I'm going to brave the millions of teenage girls at the movie theater opening weekend!
Yes, I'm still smoking & still need to quit. I think the walking will help me w/that because I need to breath.
I'm still working on getting my fundraising stuff out to you. I have some absolutely wonderful-smelling soaps, lotions, lip balms, & candles for you. I've got the knowledge of what I want to do, but not on HOW to do it. I'll be working on it (ok, with a little help from a friend)!
Is there something wrong with me? Yes. Yes, I think there is.
While sitting in class last night (when I should have probably been listening) I had these thoughts:
Marriage is contagious & going around~Congrats to Tricia & Steve & to my nephew Adam & his new fiance Crystal. Screw Valentine's Day, this last weekend seemed to be the time to become engaged (or to share w/the family).
I always have the best of intentions. I plan on spending time on a blog, looking for a job, doing my online studying, but it seems that something always seems to come up. We have to go to Target, go to the in-laws, we have psycho dogs terrorizing our house, or play on Twitter or Facebook, etc...
Does anything that I had wanted to do get done? No. There are loads of laundry waiting to be done, bathrooms that need to be cleaned & a computer class just calling my name, telling me I need to get my ass in gear. What am I doing? I'm writing instead.
Someone needs to teach me how to make a schedule & stick to it. I want to get everything done, but it always seems that there is something else to do (Damn you, Pirates!)
I am going to make it my goal (for the month) to try to stick to a schedule. I know I will feel like a better person for it.
My goal list for tomorrow:
Study-I want to get through at least 3 chapters (I was gonna say 4, but lets keep it realistic).
Work on this blog to try to make it better
Clean bathrooms
Pirates of the Caribbean (Hey, I must do what is on the list!)
I'm trying to start off small & hopefully I can accomplish these things & work at growing to be a better person. Wish me luck!
