My Embarrassing Little Secret

I have kinda dropped the ball on writing this last week. I'd like to say that it was because I was studying or because I started training for the Avon Walk or trying to find a cure for world hunger, but that is not the case. I have had my head in the books (Twilight Saga & The Host). I am a major procrastinator. I should be studying now, but I have all my wonderful friends on Twitter & Facebook & the JJS boards to keep me busy. I even went for a walk today (anything to keep me from studying!!!!). I walked 1 1/4 miles today. Not great, but hell it's a start & it got my fat ass off the couch!

I am a person who obsesses over things so when I start a new book, I'm screwed because nothing else gets done. I watched the Twilight movie about a month ago & have been obsessed ever since. That there Robert Pattinson is just beautiful on one of those weird ways. Yes, I'm a 30 year old woman crushing on a 22 yr old boy. Sue me. Just don't tell anyone because, well, it's embarrassing!! Because of this new crush , though, I did find the books. Yes, my sister told me about them before (I LOVE vampire stuff!), but I didn't want to read a young adult book! These books were wonderful (I've now read them all twice) & I can't wait for the New Moon movie to come out in November! I've told my hubby that that is what I want to to for my birthday. Yes, I'm going to brave the millions of teenage girls at the movie theater opening weekend!

Yes, I'm still smoking & still need to quit. I think the walking will help me w/that because I need to breath.

I'm still working on getting my fundraising stuff out to you. I have some absolutely wonderful-smelling soaps, lotions, lip balms, & candles for you. I've got the knowledge of what I want to do, but not on HOW to do it. I'll be working on it (ok, with a little help from a friend)!

Is there something wrong with me? Yes. Yes, I think there is.

Spring in the High Desert

I don't know if I've mentioned that I moved to the High Desert from Ontario. In Ontario (not really all that far from here), there are no definite seasons, & growing up there I never noticed or cared. I moved to the high desert in the beginning of fall. The trees were in full bloom with leaves & fruit, the roses blossomed & the grape vines had grapes (yes, I have grapevines). It started to cool down & I watched my leave-covered trees grow nekkid & my grapevines start to die (by all appearances).

As I have been watching (damn, I wish I had pics, but I'm just too damn lazy), I've been watching the leaves start to come back & flowers start to blossom again. My grapevines have come back from the dead (I don't know anything about grapevines & I assumed they were dead).

I have never realized how much I truly love seasons. It is a beautiful & amazing thing to watch. I have been busier than usual, but whenever I go outside, I always take a minute (or however long it takes me to smoke) to check out all the new happenings.

When I started working & they asked me about goals & the possibility of getting my dream home. I told them I have my dream home. Yes, it gets hotter than hell here in the summer, but it really is beautiful here.

Wow, I feel like an ad for the High Desert. Move here~where you can get actual seasons in sunny California!

Sorry, I just haven't heard this song in forever! Another thing that I didn't know I missed!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Ok, so I haven't written since last Friday. Sorry, my daughter is on Spring Break, so I'm going to use that as my excuse.

A little update on my CK: I am a failure & for that I'd like to blame Eric (for buying more), coffee (for going so well w/a smoke), & beer (for the same reason as coffee). Yup, I'm gonna blame everyone, but myself (because it's just so much easier). I have cut back (some), but I'm still a-smokin.

I'm still workin on my fundraiser & I should be able to put my goodies up by the end of the month.

I finished my studying last week, woohoo! Now I just need to take the test for my license!

My daughter & I are driving each other nuts. Gotta love Spring Break! I'm gonna take her to the movies next week. It's hard because I'm used to having her in school all day & she's daddy's girl. I'm an ok mom, but definitely not #1.

Oh, before I forget: Happy Easter (or Passover or nothing, depending on what you celebrate)!!!

Due to the high prices of your product, I am now on my way to becoming a nonsmoker. I thank you greatly for the increase, as I was getting tired of hacking anyway. You are helping my husband quit, too, which is a wonderful thing. I fear though, that he will be your patron for a while longer still. While I think your product is wonderful with a beer, I'm afraid I just can't afford it on a daily basis. I will miss it with my morning coffee & will grow to hate you as my weight increases.

It's a Girl!

I just got back from the hospital from seeing my best & oldest friend. She has a baby girl! I'm so happy for her!
Congratulations to Barbara & Chris on their new baby girl, Sophia Grace. I'm going back to the hospital tomorrow to see her & get some pics. As she's not my baby, I will not post pics here until they have put some out.

Hi Ho Hi Ho...

I'm such a big fat ho. No, that's not right (well not the ho part). It's off to work I go! This week has been kind of quiet as I've been studying. Yes (I know it's a miracle), I have actually been studying!

I have actually had my first appointment (thank you Barnara!), which I think went well. I think she's gonna buy everything I've got! Ok, I'm just kidding, but it was a great learning experience.

I have wonderful friends who have been willing to help me out. There were even two people willing to make an appointment on fun night (Jack Heine, from Jamie, Jack, & Stench, World Tour) in Burbank just so I could go & get some more practice. While it was my idea, I couldn't do it because IT WAS FUN NIGHT!

I have an appointment today with my aunt (I get see my new little cousin today. Yay!!!) & I was going to bring Marissa with me, but seeing as she's a liar & a thief, that's not going to happen. That little girl lied to my face several times when I asked her where my anti-frizz stuff was & she said she'd seen it, but didn't take it. Then she put on lotion, which she's not supposed to even have in her room because the last time she had it, she used it to stick paper to her wall! She took my lotion from the hall closet. Guess we're gonna have to get a lock for it since she can't be trusted. My poor hubby woke up to me yelling across the house~Oops!
